Opening over 125 years ago, Good Samaritan Hospital got its name from the parable of the Good Samaritan who stopped by the side of the road to help the man who was beaten and left for dead. Decades later, Good Samaritan Hospital provides top quality healthcare to those in need. Recently signing an affiliation agreement with WellSpan Health®, Good Samaritan Hospital located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, serves a local population of 120,000 residents as well as the surrounding towns. Known for its modern emergency department, life-saving heart center, cancer center, women’s center and birthing centers, WellSpan Good Samaritan rivals many city hospital facilities.
With such a long standing history, many people and lots of resources have gone into making this hospital what it is today. The traditional plaque donor wall that WellSpan Good Samaritan had wasn’t drawing attention like it once did. WellSpan Good Samaritan approached ConnectedSign about turning their stagnant donor wall into an interactive, digital donor wall. This new digital approach would allow WellSpan Good Samaritan to update donor information quickly and effectively, as well as allow users to see pictures, watch short video clips and read bios on donors.
Over the past few months, ConnectedSign worked with designed templates from the Hospital’s Marketing Department and added interactivity to create and deploy the donor wall that currently plays in the main hospital. This donor wall showcases different levels of giving by donors as well as areas that patrons can donate towards. Just across the hallway ConnectedSign is working with WellSpan Good Samaritan on plans to create a digital memory wall. Still in the works are ideas for a large video wall as well as spiritual/memorial digital signage throughout the building.
The Sechler Family Cancer Center at WellSpan Good Samaritan asked us to design an interactive digital display to showcase levels of survivorship (ie; 1 year cancer free, 5 years cancer free…etc.) and include a “ring the bell” feature for those patients that celebrate finishing various cancer treatments. The sign would also feature Center news, services and advertising.
We’re excited to continue working with WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in our partnership to develop their digital signage as they showcase financial gifts, celebrate newfound health, and share important news with patients and visitors.
