In an effort to bring light to the truths of manufacturing in the United States,
National Manufacturing Week (and specifically PA Manufacturing Day on Friday October 2nd) is the annually celebrated the last week of September into the beginning of October.
Together, manufacturers open their doors to collectively rally attention towards issues that are prevalent in the industry as well as to positive working environments that the public is usually unaware of. This week and day of national recognition helps to bring awareness to the often ideal working conditions that exist for skilled laborers and encourages young people to consider working in the manufacturing industry. The average annual compensation for someone in this field is $62,140. Manufacturing brings in $79 billion alone to the PA economy every year.
National Manufacturing Week aims as addressing problems and bringing unity to one of Pennsylvania’s largest industries.
