Connecting a Dental School Community With Digital Signage
Challenge
A busy dental school serves more than students and faculty. Patients, visitors, staff, and members of the surrounding community also rely on clear, accessible information throughout the facility.
The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry wanted to modernize campus communications and create a more effective way to distribute news, schedules, events, and other important information.
The school also needed a platform that would be easy for its team to manage and flexible enough to support multiple communication needs.
Solution
Working with ConnectedSign, the school deployed digital signage throughout its main building and remote clinic locations.
Approximately a dozen displays were installed to provide students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors with relevant information throughout the day.
The network could be used to display:
- School news and announcements
- Schedules and upcoming events
- Menus
- Campus and community information
- Images and promotional content
- RSS feeds
- Weather information
ConnectedSign also helped create an interactive kiosk that provided a searchable staff directory along with directions to selected destinations.
The kiosk gave visitors access to upcoming events, facility maps, and information about the surrounding area, creating a more useful self-service resource within the school.
Results
Digital signage gave the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry a more flexible way to communicate across its campus and clinics.
Multiple departments, including IT, Marketing & Communications, and Design & Photo, could contribute to a coordinated communication program designed around the needs of the school community.
The result was a stronger connection with students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors through timely, relevant information delivered across digital displays.
“By utilizing ConnectedSign’s software, and with the collaboration of many school departments including Design & Photo, Marketing & Communications and IT, we are able to better engage our school community with news and information that’s relevant to their daily lives.”
