The Extinction of Paper Menus

Posted On June 5th, 2012 By Brigitte Bucklin

Ever watch the hit TV show Restaurant Impossible and wonder how some restaurants could get so bad? Well, I feel that way when I see outdated signs and terrible restaurant marketing. Spelling errors on signs (especially the by-letter assemblies you see at fast food joints) could cause a lot of confusion. Why not fix this problem permanently?

Restaurants are the perfect locations for Digital Signage. The menu can be updated by the click of a mouse at little to no cost to reflect even the smallest changes (i.e. if the special runs out or a fruit is out of season). A digital menu board provides a canvas that is not only visually appealing but also boasts functionality.  Simple yet highly functional.

The menu board displays; specials, advertisements, news updates, weather and more. The screens can even display a TV channel to entertain your diners. Long story short, a digital menu board has limitless functionality which favors the future trends of the restaurant industry. As federal rules and regulations push restaurants toward transparency of the nutritional value of their menu and restaurant goers demand efficiency, Digital Signage proves to be the best solution.

  1. I think it’s really going to help restaurants to communicate with their customers in a lot of different ways. It’s the usual ROI hump we have to get past that makes it difficult. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t always make them drink.
