Tips Tricks & General Knowledge About Digital Signage
Terrible, awful, rotten things have been seen on Digital Signage screens.
How did this happen? A security breech? A network hacked?
Nope, just not enough effort put into thinking through the displays intended message. The example I see the most is retail screens that are showing a digital version of a print ad. Way too much text and information. Sometimes they take it up a notch and animate it with Flash. Now you have a distracting, much too busy ad.
The best way to be effective with your intended message be it retail, corporate or any other usage is to use all the power of Digital Signage players and software to do what they were intended to do . . . Deliver Focused Information!
TIP: Craft the message.
Spend a little effort to position elements and text well. Edit till it hurts. Most retail ads can benefit from just removing excess information. A good ad or message will contain a call to action that is clear as a bell and rings just as loud.
